Overview

Nancy Blake’s Tavern + Tap, located in the heart of Jackson Heights at 82-19 Northern Blvd, reshapes the neighborhood bar scene with a fresh and inviting approach. As a bar & grill, it strikes an impressive balance between comfort and style, offering a spacious, well-designed interior that welcomes a diverse crowd—from locals seeking a quiet spot to catch up with friends to those looking for a versatile place to unwind after work or enjoy a game.

The establishment stands out by prioritizing atmosphere and community spirit over noise and overcrowding. Unlike many bars nearby that double as nightclubs with overwhelming sound levels, Nancy Blake’s delivers a relaxed, conversational environment with carefully curated music played through a jukebox at a comfortable volume. This aspect alone makes it a rare find for those who value genuine connection and a balanced vibe in a busy urban setting.

Since the kitchen’s recent opening, the culinary offerings have added significant value to the experience. The Shepherd’s Pie, in particular, has earned high praise for its comforting, expertly prepared flavor, elevating the tavern beyond just drinks. Prior to the kitchen launch, guests enjoyed a thoughtful BYOF policy and collaborated with the neighboring Element Pizzeria, ensuring that good food paired seamlessly with the carefully crafted beverages.

The bar’s friendly and skilled bartenders, like Arthur, heighten the appeal through attentive service and well-made cocktails. This personalized hospitality fosters a welcoming environment where every visitor feels valued—a key to the place’s quick rise as a neighborhood staple.

Nancy Blake’s Tavern + Tap caters well to residents who appreciate a low-key yet vibrant setting. Its focus on supporting local organizations and creating a versatile social hub makes it not just a bar, but a community cornerstone in Jackson Heights. Whether you’re there to catch your favorite game, share a meal, or simply enjoy a thoughtfully made drink, it’s clear this new tavern is much more than overdue; it’s absolutely essential.

Great new place. Very spacious and a nice atmosphere. This place was so overdue and a needed change to the the neighborhood bar dynamic. I feel like every bar on northern blvd is on repeat except for this place. Cant wait till your kitchen opens. Thank you Nancy Blakes!

Great new neighborhood pub. Friendly owner who supports local residents and organizations. Good vibes, service and food. Great place to grab a drink, watch a game, or even work on a laptop or read (if music doesn’t bother you).

Finally!!!! Someone smart enough to open a pub in this neighborhood that's not like all the other loud bars, trying to be night clubs, in J Heights. A decent pub/bar in this neighborhood that does NOT blast loud tacky dance music so loud they I can't hear myself think. The space is new but very well set up and spacious. It's a great place to have a decent drink/beer and catch up with friends. There is a jukebox so you can pick music you want to hear and it's on a good volume level, where you CAN have conversations with friends. Thank goodness. No food yet but hoping that'll change soon.

Such a great new spot — just opened and already feels like a neighborhood favorite in the making. The vibe is warm and welcoming with a clean, stylish setup that makes you want to stay awhile. Arthur, the bartender, was phenomenal — super friendly, skilled, and genuinely made the whole experience memorable. His cocktails were spot-on, and he made sure everyone at the bar felt taken care of. Right now it’s BYOF (Bring Your Own Food) since the kitchen isn’t open just yet — but it will be soon! In the meantime, they’ve partnered with their next-door neighbor Element Pizzeria, and even have their menu on hand, making it easy to order in some great food while you sip on your drinks. Between the drinks, the hospitality, and the flexibility to bring or order food, this place is already a gem. Can’t wait to come back — definitely a five-star experience!

Went last night with friends. This pub has been of high interest in Jackson Heights since it is our new and only pub! It took a while to get gas approved to open the kitchen so it was operating as a bar only for many months. As of last month, though, the kitchen is operational! Went with friends last night for dinner. We all enjoyed our drinks and meals and are so glad to have this local option when we don't feel like traveling to Sunnyside or Woodside for pub food. The space is great with comfortable bar stools (with backs) and high tables in the front/at the bar, and standard chairs and tables in the back of the restaurant (8-10 tables at least). It's nice the back is slightly separate as it makes it quieter and cozier when conversing with friends. The bartender/waitress is great. Efficient even when busy, with a great sense of humor. Bathrooms are downstairs, FYI, but they have an elevator (!) that customers will be able to use in the future (wasn't up and running last night however). Overall, a great and needed addition to the neighborhood!

Padraic, the owner is bringing a whole new vibe to the Heights and doing a great job even without the kitchen open yet. He’s also the owner of another great Pub/Restaurant of 10 years named the Brewery in Astoria. The food and service there is exceptional and he will bring that same experience to NB. Prices do not change according to the holidays. I love that. . Happy hour 4-7 $6:50 and slides up to $8;50 after 7 and is well worth the stay. At the moment the kitchen is closed until approved by NYFD whom I hope will find a lovely home there on their nights off. At the moment this is not wheelchair accessible but will be very soon. This is a BYOF, meaning until the kitchen is open for business you can order from any restaurant including the corner pizzeria and enjoy your beers, cocktails and the food of your choice from outside. Lovely decor and a very nice touch of Ireland added to feel like you’ve gone on a holiday. Private party room in the basement with full on bar, elevator to take you there once approved and some surprises hopefully in the future. Come in out of curiosity and stay for a while. Meet as strangers and leave as friends. TVs all over the place to watch any sport and juke box for great self chosen music. What a really nice change of pace to a neighborhood who’s known for their good food, good music and late nights. Hope to see you there. CC
